Compassion - feeling and showing sympathy and concern for others. This goes completely against what society teaches us to do, which is to put ourselves and our needs above everyone else’s. We are taught to do whatever it takes to meet our selfish desires, even if others are hurt in the process. This is not God’s way! Can you imagine a world where everyone showed compassion to each other as God shows compassion towards us? Most of our problems on this earth today would not exist if we simply showed compassion for each other.

You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.God demonstrates His love for us anew everyday! If only our faithfulness to Him was as great as His faithfulness to us.

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.This is completely against our human nature. We all want to talk and be heard; it is so much harder to listen. Keep in mind that listening and hearing are two completely different things. And when we perceive we have been insulted or wronged, we immediately jump into anger mode. Scripture teaches us to do the exact opposite of what oir nature leads us to do. Just think of the misunderstandings we could have avoided, the apologies we would never have had to issue, the hurt that never would have occurred if we had followed God’s way instead of our own.

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.It is wonderful to know that we don’t have to hope we will be victorious in the end, but that we already have won the victory. The Spirit of God that abides in us is greater than anything that is of this world!
